Bonjour. Parlez-vous anglais?
Sarah and I have gone from needing 100% English, to being able to get by in most situations in French. (At least we can order food and understand what is going on.)
We’ve walked miles and miles of Paris and seen the Louvre (toured it for about 6 hours and didn’t see even a 1/4!), the Eiffel Tower (at night, we have yet to go to the top), the Musee d’Orsay (just walked by so far, we’ll go back to view the Impressionist galleries…including Monet), Notre-Dame (we’re staying right by, but we haven’t gone in yet), Centre Pompidou, Palais De Justice, Musee De L’Armee, and so much more.
Every street in Paris seems to have at least one interesting building, and most likely hundreds of interesting people. Paris is visually stunning, colorful, and (in my opinion) very clean for such a large city (compared to say, New York City).
Sidewalk cafes are all appropriately placed in the best people watching spots, and we’re never far from delicious coffee (strong, but very smooth) or the best croissants.
Scooters, motorcycles, and bicycles are everywhere! It’s fabulous! Everyone rides on two wheels. Men, women, young, old, suits, dresses - all on scooters. Amazing. Parked everywhere (most don’t have garages or even driveways for that matter), and from every manufacturer: Peugeot, Yamaha, Honda, Piaggio, Vespa, Aprilia, MBK, etc…
More later…

Ai-je vu une photo du palais de Versailles? Quel fabuleusement beau bâtiment
et félicitations!
Je suis excité pour voir Barcelone, et ensuite nous pouvons “parler” dans l’espagnol!
